Facials

Your skin is exposed to environmental elements every day. Over the years, the sun's rays, pollution, and other damaging agents can take a toll on the skin. A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated healthy skin. Facials are recommended once every four to six weeks to maintain the health and beauty of the skin. Each of our customized facials includes a thorough cleansing of the skin, exfoliation, a customized masque and a relaxing facial massage.

■ Microdermabrasion – The Microdermabrasion facial uses micro fine crystals to provide gentle abrasion to the skin. The Microdermabrasion removes the superficial dead skin cells improving the tone and texture of the skin. This treatment is great for fine lines and wrinkles, uneven pigment and uneven texture.

What results can I expect from Microdermabrasion?

Age spots and fine lines can be reduced, and many patients report their skin seems softer, tighter, smoother and younger looking.

How often should I have a Microdermabrasion?

On average treatments should be scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks. A series of at least 6 treatments is recommended, however, maintenance treatments are necessary to maintain results.

■ Ultrasonic Facial – The ultrasonic facial utilizes advanced ultrasonic vibration waves to gently exfoliate the epidermal layer of the skin. The treatment dissolves surface debris and significantly diminishes comedones (blackheads). This treatment is great for fine lines and wrinkles, uneven texture and clogged pores.

What does the Ultrasonic facial do for your skin?

It loosens and removes oil, dirt and sebum from the pores. It also stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage and removes dead skin buildup.

Who is a candidate for the treatment?

The ultrasonic facial is suitable for most skin types. However, individuals with certain autoimmune disorders, heart conditions or cancers should consult their physician before treatment.

■ Chemical Peels – Glycolic, Salicylic or Retin A peels are used to remove dead skin cells, reduce acne breakouts, reduce hyperpigmentation, reduce scaring and improve overall appearance of the skin. The type and strength of the acid can be customized to meet the need of the patient.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a technique of improving the tone and texture of the skin by removing its damaged outer layers so that a new skin layer can rejuvenate. Over a period, the treated skin starts peeling off and after some days the skin is totally peeled off and replaced by new skin.

What are the chemical agents used?

The most commonly used chemical agents are: Glycolic acid 20%-70%, Salicylic acid, and Retin A. The skin care specialist will examine the skin and its sensitivity and then decide the type of peeling agent and its concentration.

What happens after the chemical peel?

Most people may experience increased sensitivity, tightness and dryness, redness, blotchiness, swelling, scabbing and peeling.
